Working above the clouds: The Air Berlin Group is taking on more staff

Germany’s second largest airline is again taking on more staff. Air Berlin is already looking to recruit 700 flight attendants and 120 co-pilots. It is expected that they will be based at the Air Berlin locations of Berlin, Düsseldorf, Frankfurt, Hamburg, Munich, Münster/Osnabrück, Nuremberg, Paderborn-Lippstadt and Stuttgart in Germany, as well as Basel/Mühlhausen and Zurich in Switzerland.

Berlin – In addition to having a valid pilot’s licence and a medical certificate of fitness for flying duties, co-pilots should already have some flying experience and ideally type rating for Airbus or Boeing. Other requirements include very good knowledge of German and English, an unrestricted passport, a class B driving licence and e-mail access.

Those applying for the post of flight attendant must have completed their professional training, preferably in the service industry, and have very good command of German and English. They should be willing to relocate, as well as being flexible and enjoying the role of host.

Anyone interested in working above the clouds will find further information about job requirements, the selection process and online application forms on Air Berlin’s website at airberlin.com/jobs.

Air Berlin is Germany’s second largest airline. The Group has been listed on the stock exchange since May 2006. Last year Air Berlin carried a total of 28.6 million passengers worldwide. The company currently has about 8,200 employees. In 2008 alone Air Berlin received more than 10 awards for service and quality. With an average age of just 4.6 years, Air Berlin has one of the newest fleets in Europe. The airline’s modern aircraft are extremely fuel-efficient and so provide a lasting contribution to the reduction of aviation emissions.
