Qatar Airways is to operate one additional flight from Doha to Damascus tonight (July 17) due to the heightened security situation in neighbouring Beirut.
The extra flight is scheduled to leave Doha International Airport at 1500 hrs (Qatar local time), arriving into Damascus at 1800 hrs (Syrian local time). The return flight is scheduled to depart Damascus at 1900 hrs (Syrian local time) and arrive in Doha at 2200 hrs (Qatar local time) on July 17.
Since last Thursday (July 13) Qatar Airways has operated additional flights between Doha and Damascus and has carried more than 2,200 passengers from Damascus airport to Doha.
Due to the continuing closure of Rafik Hariri International Airport in Beirut, Qatar Airways flights between Doha and Beirut are now cancelled until July 24. Our office in Beirut remains closed owing to the security situation in the Lebanese capital.
