Aegean Airlines reports a significant rise in passenger traffic for 2008. More specifically, passenger traffic rose by 14% to 6 million passengers carried on 57,635 flights. At the same time, passengers per flight rose to 104 from 96 in 2007 period.
Aegean Airlines builds on successful expansion with the delivery of new Airbus A320/321 and service to new destinations with the start of its summer 2008 flight schedule.

Key highlights: Turnover rose 20% to €370.5m from €307.6m. Pre-tax earnings increased 36% to €41.7m. Net profit for the period increased 45% to €33.4m from €23m. Total passengers welcomed onboard rose by 19% to 4.1 million.
