among largest European network airlines

Madrid – In the first quarter 2008, Iberia scored an average punctuality rating of 84.9%, more than four points better than its performance in full-year 2007, and higher than Europe’s other largest network airlines.
A report by the European Airlines Association (AEA) states that in the first quarter of this year Iberia operated a total of 82,342 short- and medium-haul domestic and intra-Europe flights, of which 85.8% were punctual. This was 5.4 points better than the average for AEA members as a whole. Iberia is among the top three carriers in the number of short and medium flights, and ranked fourth in punctuality overall, but first among the large network airlines.
In the quarter the Madrid-Barcelona walk-on shuttle earned a punctuality rating of 94.2%, nearly two points better than in the same quarter of last year.
