– In survey of more than 1,300 analysts and fund managers by Institutional Investor magazine
– Iberia was one of few singled out as best by both analysts and managers
Madrid – A survey of more than 1,300 investment analysts and fund managers found Iberia to be European’s best transportation company in investor relations, according to the prestigious business publication Institutional Investor.
The survey, covering 32 types of industry in Europe, presented separate findings from the poll of fund managers („buy side“) and analysts („sell side“). Iberia was one of only ten companies to be named the best by both groups.
Aside from Iberia, the Spanish companies chosen as best in investor relations by the analysts were Banco Santander, the ACS group, Telefónica, and Iberdrola.
For Elena Baíllo, Iberia’s Deputy Manager for Investor Relations, „this result is a recognition of the entire company’s efforts to offer information to all our shareholders with the maximum possible transparency“.
Institutional Investor magazine, which has conducted the survey each year since 2002, says that to determine which companies are outstanding in their investor relations is particularly relevant now that many European countries and firms are facing the consequences of the economic slump, since „analysts and investors ascribe greater importance to companies’ abilities to communicate their strategies to shareholders.“
One of the world’s most influential business journals, Institutional Investor magazine has won many awards in nearly 50 years of publication, and is regarded as required reading for executives and political leaders.
