Fly Lufthansa non-stop from Frankfurt to Buenos Aires

Longest route in the Lufthansa network to be resumed in winter 2007/2008

This winter, Lufthansa customers will benefit from additional services to South America. From 28 October 2007, when the winter timetable goes into effect, Lufthansa will operate five non-stop flights per week from Frankfurt to Buenos Aires and will thus once again be offering a direct connection to Argentina, without a stopover. “Our customers have expressed a wish for this connection and I am delighted that we are able to offer it again. Overall, South America is showing strong, dynamic growth and many large German and European companies have branches there, particularly in Buenos Aires,” says Karl Ulrich Garnadt, a member of the Board of Lufthansa Passenger Airlines. “At the same time, this is a clear sign that we aim to further expand our operations also from our Frankfurt hub.”

With a population of twelve million, Greater Buenos Aires is the largest metropolitan region in Argentina, and the second-largest in South America as a whole, after São Paulo. Nearly all of Germany’s blue-chip, DAX-listed companies have a branch within the catchment area of Buenos Aires.

Lufthansa will operate a Boeing 747-400 in a three-class configuration on the new route, with the flight numbers LH510/LH511. The scheduled departure time in Frankfurt is 10.20 hrs, with the return flight from Buenos Aires planned for 21.50 hrs.

As Lufthansa and Swiss have harmonised their timetables, they can offer passengers travelling to South America also convenient connections in São Paulo. Swiss flies daily from Zurich to São Paulo and from there on to Santiago de Chile. Lufthansa also operates daily services from Frankfurt and Munich to São Paulo, so that passengers of both airlines can take the SWISS connecting flight from São Paulo to Santiago de Chile. Likewise, passengers arriving from Chile can fly to any of the two airlines’ three hubs in Europe.

Return fares to Buenos Aires start at 799 euros, including all taxes, charges and the Ticket Service Charge (TSC). In addition, Miles & More members will have miles credited to their account. The above fare applies to electronic tickets booked online. The TSC may vary for bookings made via other channels. Information about Lufthansa flight reservations can also be obtained from the Lufthansa Call Center on “0180 – LUFTHANSA” (0180 5 83 84 26), Lufthansa-designated travel agencies or Lufthansa sales counters at airports.
