The Boeing Company [NYSE: BA] today announced it has concluded its purchase of Carmen Systems. The acquisition supports Boeing’s strategy of providing its customers with innovative products and services to help them run their businesses more efficiently.
SEATTLE – „We are excited to welcome the employees of Carmen Systems to Boeing and Jeppesen,“ said Lou Mancini, vice president and general manager of Boeing Commercial Aviation Services. „We will add Carmen’s great products and people to our expanding information management and operations solutions business that are so important to our customers.“
With this purchase, Carmen Systems will become part of Jeppesen, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Boeing Commercial Aviation Services. Jeppesen will fully integrate, support and grow Carmen’s businesses. „Carmen’s aviation business is a natural fit for Jeppesen and will enhance our existing portfolio of airline operations services by adding their crew, fleet and logistics resource optimization solutions,“ said Mark Van Tine, president and chief operating officer of Jeppesen. „In addition, its railroad business offers new opportunities, which are consistent with our growth strategy of applying our technology to new markets.“
