BalticMiles MasterCard holders have spent LVL 1 million since introduction of the card. BalticMiles MasterCard is a credit card issued by the Nordea bank, and it also serves as a BalticMiles membership card for the loyalty programme of airBaltic. Points are accumulated each time the card is used anywhere in the world

Riga – Tero Taskila, Chief Commercial Officer of airBaltic: “The first BalticMiles MasterCard credit card was issued last November, and now owners of the card have bought goods and services at a value of LVL 1 million. That means that they’ve totted up one million BalticMiles points.  Now all participants in the BalticMiles programme can spend their points at the new BalticMiles Internet superstore and with our program partners. We’re continuing to look for new partners for our loyalty programme so as to establish BalticMiles as an alternative currency.”

airBaltic, Nordea and MasterCard offer extra benefits for the card-holders. BalticMiles MasterCard has no fee for opening an account with Nordea and no monthly fees for the first 6 months of usage. BalticMiles MasterCard holders pay only for the credit used, moreover, they enjoy a “grace period” (a credit without interest) of up to 55 days. Customers earn Reward Miles with every purchase worldwide. Also valuable travel insurance is included in the offer for free.

BalticMiles is the first loyalty programme to bring together a number of companies in the Baltic and Nordic region. It was launched in October 2009, and at this time, the programme has partners from the banking, telecommunications, hospitality, spa and wellness, fuel retail, entertainment and other industries. BalticMiles is an open loyalty programme – an unlimited number of partners from various sectors can join it.

airBaltic serves 80 destinations from its home base in Riga, Latvia. From every one of these, airBaltic offers convenient connections via North Hub Riga to its network spanning Europe, Scandinavia, Russia, CIS and the Middle East.
