Qatar Airways is to operate one additional flight from Doha to Damascus tonight (July 16) and two additional flights tomorrow (July 17) due to the heightened security situation in neighbouring Beirut.
The first extra flight is scheduled to leave Doha International Airport this evening at 2200 hrs (Qatar local time), arriving into Damascus at 0100 hrs (Syrian local time). The return flight is scheduled to depart Damascus at 0200 hrs (Syrian local time) and arrive in Doha at 0500 hrs (Qatar local time) on July 17.
The second flight on July 17 is scheduled to leave Doha tomorrow early morning at 0100 hrs (Qatar local time), arriving into Damascus at 0400 hrs (Syrian local time). The return flight is due to depart Damascus at 0500 hrs (Syrian local time) arriving in Doha at 0800 hrs (Qatar local time).
In addition to the scheduled flight on July 17, which leaves Doha at 1245 hrs (Qatar local time), arriving into Damascus at 1540 hrs (Syrian local time), Qatar Airways will operate a third extra flight leaving Doha at 1500 hrs (Qatar local time), arriving into Damascus at 1800 hrs (Syrian local time). The return flight is due to depart Damascus at 1900 hrs (Syrian local time) arriving in Doha at 2200 hrs (Qatar local time).
Since last Thursday (July 13) Qatar Airways has operated additional flights between Doha and Damascus and has carried more than 1,500 passengers from Damascus airport to Doha.
Due to the closure of Rafik Hariri International Airport in Beirut, Qatar Airways flights between Doha and Beirut remain cancelled. The Lebanese authorities have directed us to close our reservation office in Beirut owing to the security situation in the Lebanese capital.
