Czech Airlines has become the Official Carrier of the convention of elite Latin American tour operators, which will start in Prague today and run until Monday 25 February.
Czech Airlines will provide carriage for the convention attendees within Europe. Today, two of Czech Airlines largest capacity planes carried the participants from Madrid to Carlsbad, and at the end of the convention they will fly them back to Madrid from Prague.
“Carrying the senior representatives of Latin American travel agencies is a great opportunity for us to show off the quality of the product Czech Airlines has to offer to its clients,” said Czech Airlines’ Director for Charter Flights, Zdeněk Prejzek. One of the main organisers of the convention is the state tourism promotional agency, CzechTourism. “The fact that we have managed to obtain the organisation of the convention for the Czech Republic is the first achievement of Czech Tourism’s newest office, in Mexico,” said the Director of CzechTourism, Rostislav Vondruška.
From 20 through 25 February 2008, the prestigious convention of the association of elite tour operators from Latin America will be attended by 600 representatives of travel agencies and journalists from this promising region. The convention attendees travel to Europe via Madrid, from where they will be carried to the Czech Republic by special Czech Airlines flights to Carlsbad. On the way back, the businessmen will be flown on special Czech Airlines flights between Prague – Madrid. For all of these flights, Czech Airlines will deploy its largest capacity aircraft – Airbus A321s. Each of them can carry up to 212 passengers.
Since 2001, Czech Airlines has been a member of the SkyTeam global airline alliance, associating 11 major airlines, including the largest Mexican airline carrier, Aero México. In code-share cooperation with that airline, Czech Airlines offers flights between Prague and Mexico City.
The Central and East European region is increasing in popularity among Latin American tourists: last year, more than two million such visitors flew to Europe. Czech Airlines has its own sales offices in seven countries in Latin America.
