Iberia carries 885,000 kg of flowers for All Saint’s Day

Mostly roses and carnations, all the flowers come from Bogotá and Quito

Madrid – On the occasion of the Roman Catholic feast All Saint’s Day, Iberia will carry 885,000 kilograms of flowers from Colombia and Ecuador to Spain.

The flowers, mostly roses and carnations, will be shipped on pallets holding ten cubic metres and weighing up to 1,600 kg. The pallets are shaped to fit the holds of Iberia’s aircraft.

While all the flowers come from Bogotá, Colombia, and Quito, Ecuador, the flowers for Spain will be loaded at other points on Iberia’s network in the Americas, such as Caracas, Havana, Mexico City, Santo Domingo, San Juan de Puerto Rico, San José de Costa Rica, New York, and Miami.

In 2007, Iberia Cargo carried nearly 7,000 tonnes of flows from 21 countries, chiefly in Latin America, such as Colombia, Ecuador and Costa Rica.
