The French magazine Paris Match dedicates several pages of December 18 publication to Portugal, recommending Lisboa as a prime tourism destination. It also describes it as a „cultural and cosmopolitan city“ enjoying tremendous international tourism appeal.
The article portrays the Portuguese capital as a city in perpetual transformation, and a must see on the European art tour. This two page article describes Lisboa’s rich and diverse tourism offer, with the city being bathed „by a rich and intense light“ ideal for „walks along its seven hills“.
To discover this „city of contrasts“ Paris Match compiled a tour guide including the most traditional restaurants (historic neighbourhoods of Lisboa and the typical Fado houses) and other characterized by their modernity. In this tour, the
Berardo Collection Museum is described as a must see venue, given that its 4000 works from the 20th century rival the collections of the Centre Georges Pompidou and even the Tate Gallery“. The tour continues into the night alternating between the vibrant streets of Bairro Alto and the banks of the Tagus river, from the docks of Santa Apolónia to Alcântara, where the reader is guided to the fashionable restaurants bars and nightclubs. Paris Match ends the article noting that Lisboa is a safe city to go out at night and recommending a visit.
