Last year Lisboa harbour recorded the greatest number of cruise liner stopovers ever, with a total of 310.
Surpassing the previous record of 274 stopovers in 2006, Lisboa is once again the most sought after Portuguese port, by both national and international ships, according to data published by the Lisboa Harbour Authority.
Last year recorded a growth of 18.3% in the number of stopovers in Lisboa compared to 2007, an increase largely due to the excellent performance during June, July and August when the city recorded a total of 66 stopovers. Lisboa Harbour recorded the best ever results in terms of passenger numbers, with a total of 395 thousand in 2008, or rather 90 thousand more than in 2007.
