Virgin Blue Voted ‘Best Low-Cost Airline’ (Australia/Pacific) at Skytrax World Airline Awards

Virgin Blue was last night awarded ‘Best Low-Cost Airline’ (Australia/Pacific), in the 2010 Skytrax World Airline Awards, held at the Aircraft Interiors Expo in Hamburg, Germany 20 May, 2010.

Spring Hill (Qld.), Australia – This is the fourth time Virgin Blue has won the Best Low-Cost Airline (Australia/New Zealand), after taking it out in 2002, 2004 and 2008.

Virgin Blue Chief Executive, John Borghetti, said, „The award is testimony to the great product, brand and people that make Virgin Blue what it is today. Virgin Blue remains committed to providing the best service in the sky with affordable fares, an innovative and evolving product both in the sky and on the ground, and exceptional on-time performance.”

The awards feature more than 200 airlines from around the globe, with 1.17 million real travellers completing a comprehensive questionnaire. The World Airline Awards are highly respected for being the largest Independent passenger survey of airline standards. The questionnaires were commissioned between July 2009 and April 2010, with the awards being announced in Hamburg on 20 May 2010.

John Borghetti added, “This award also recognises the great team that make Virgin Blue the great airline it is today.”
