Iberia has signed a contract to maintain on an exclusive basis the components of the three A330 aircraft flown by the Turkish airline Onur Air.
Madrid – Iberia has signed a contract to maintain on an exclusive basis the components of the three A330 aircraft flown by the Turkish airline Onur Air. The „price by hour“ type contract covers the repair of entire systems such as LRUs (Line Replaceable Units), navigation and communications systems, and other components, over a five-year period.
Under the terms of the contract, Iberia Maintenance has put a main base kit at the disposal of Onur Air at the Turkish carrier’s base at Jeddah airport in Saudi Arabia.
The repair of the components of Onur Air’s three A330s will be carried out at Iberia’s component repair facility in Madrid, with six production lines on a 14,500 m2 site. Iberia’s maintenance technicians are qualified to repair parts of aircraft belonging to the A320, A330, and A340 Airbus families, as well as B757, B767s, B777s, CRJ900s y MD80s. The components repair unit also serves such clients as Air Nostrum, British Airways, Finnair, SAS, Vietnam Airlines, and Vueling.
Founded in 1992, Onur Air is Turkey’s largest privately-owned airline, flying to 72 destinations in 15 countries. Its fleet includes Airbus A320s, A321sm and A330s.
